7 Chakras in a human
7 Chakras of the human body
As a common fact, this COVID period
is being a stressful time for all of us. The outbreak has landed us in
disturbing situations mentally and physically. It is normal to feel stressed
when we get locked up in our rooms due to the lockdown and the fear of spread.
While surfing through the
internet, I recently came across something called the "Chakras" and
the significance to keep them calm. I was initially confused but was later
enlightened through some scholarly articles that, Chakra balancing is an excellent
way to strike a balance between our mind, body, and health. Interestingly, It
ensures the energy flow harmoniously through the body.
All the Chakras play distinctly
different roles, from feeling grounded and relaxed to focus on overall
well-being. They run from the tail end of your spinal cord to the top of your
head. The word "Chakra" literally translates in Sanskrit to a
"wheel" and symbolizes the energy flow in our bodies. Each chakra is
associated with a particular body part and its proper functioning.
According to Yoga, there are
seven major Chakras. Performing certain Yogasanas helps in relieving the
tension of these chakras. Here is a look at the location of the 7 chakras in
our body and their functions!
1. The Root Chakra
Residing at the base of the spine,
the red-colored, Root chakra is the first among the seven. With its feminine
nature, this chakra's role is to connect your body, mind, and soul to the
Earth. It builds a form of connection between us and mother Earth.
2. The Sacral Chakra
Below the belly button, this
chakra is connected to our lymphatic systems and is responsible for expressing
our emotions. The color associated with the chakra is orange.
3. The Solar plexus Chakra
Associated with self-confidence,
self-discipline, and wisdom is this third chakra. This is located below the rib
cage in the naval region. With a yellowish color, the solar plexus chakra is
responsible for all your gut feelings.
4. The Heart Chakra
Also called the Anahata, meaning,
the unstruck sound in Sanskrit. It is the fourth Chakra and is
the center of energy, located in the channel of the spine which is close to our
heart. This deals with our emotions, relationships, and, self-acceptance. The
color of the heart chakra is green.
5. The Throat Chakra
Placed right above the heart,
the Throat chakra is blue-colored. This fifth chakra is responsible for us,
being creative and voicing out our honest opinions.
6. The Third eye Chakra
The sixth chakra loosely
translates to, "beyond wisdom." Located between the eyebrows, it is
responsible for garnering information about yourself and beyond the
materialistic world. Its color is indigo.
7. The Crown Chakra
The violet-colored seventh
chakra is associated with the direct connection to God and consciousness. It
isn't humanly possible to get hold of balancing this chakra. But balancing this
will help you gain insight into yourself and the balance of your other chakras.
