Your happy place is next to you!
Hey everyone, Hope you people are doing super good! So, here is my first blog on how I spent my lazy lockdown and eventually faced an ironic change towards the end of it.
As we all are marching towards the last few days of the pandemic situation, looking back on what kind of Corona Pandemic and the lockdown we had is truly a must-do activity for all of us, I hope.
To me, 2020 was a great year. Gosh! I was able to spend quality time with my family that I even forgot this thing that I had a phone. We got around helping each other in cooking our favorite dishes, playing board games, talking our hearts out, watching our favorite programs together, we even set my room up with vibrant led lights and added up my favorite people’s photographs giving it a retro look and much more!
So, it was one fine drizzling evening during the lockdown, here in Madurai, We had a cool breeze gushing past our hair! Appa, me, and, Amma all the three of us were busy making Bajjis for the chilling climate. Guess what happened next? we sat together having the Bajjis and played cards together! That's a small matter of fact, I know. But, it took us 15 long years to sit back together for a chit-chat alongside we play the cards. Eventually, we started discussing what Social media actually was and how it was making a greater impact on teenagers these days.
Teenagers like us around the world
are getting addicted to their mobile phones, importantly to Social Media. Some
sites of Social media surely have a bright and positive side. On the contrary
are entertainment sites that make teenagers get held up with their mobiles. The
Pandemic Lockdown has given the college and school-going students the long
holiday that they have been wanting for much longer.
I too was indifferent to all other teenagers. At the beginning of the
Lockdown, I was super excited and all I did was, Wake up from bed, eat, go back
to bed playing online games with my best buds, and dozed off then. This was on repeat
for about two months on the initial stages of the Lockdown! After then, I
realized that I could start exploring my skills in my fields of interest
rather than sitting up all day scrolling through memes. I am happy that I
made up my mind that day which has helped me grow as a much better person
today.
We often forget our happy place is the people who care about us and are actually around us! So, guys, it is high time that we keep our mobile phones aside and start building ourselves mentally and physically as a better person and start appreciating the people who care about us and are present around us by talking to them and spending time with them, happily!💕
